Why Chicken and Strawberries?

So at work they seem to think that the combination of chicken and strawberries go together. In the wonderful world of Lindy Lou- that isn't even a thought. Now why in the world would anyone think that Strawberries and Chicken can even mix? Not on pizza or in a Summer Chicken Wrap. Nothing. Nada. YUCK.
Anyway- My little Sweet Baby Reding #2 seems to like spicy stuff these days. I'm not one for spice either. So I've been eating anything spicy I can get my hands on. Tacos, chips, peppers, etc. You name it and I've probably had it in the last month! Besides my intake of spicy foods, I can't seem to get enough fruits. I. LOVE. FRUIT. Any and all fruit. But if you haven't noticed, the price of fruit is outrageous!! I mean really? $5 a lb. for cherries? I think NOT! So, the great couponer that I've become (not really but I do get an A for effort), I took my handy dandy Aldi's ad because they had watermelons for $2 each, .99 cents for a crate of strawberries, $1.75 lb. for cherries and $1.25 lb. for grapes. So- I had the greatest and most friendly cashier at Wal-Mart. Not. First off, P falls asleep in my arms at the deli (because we have to get potato wedges) and  P wanted popcorn chicken. So as we are waiting because we have the slowest person helping us- she was super nice but extremely slow. And when you are carrying a 35lb. child that has fallen asleep- hello! She gets heavy fast! We get our chicken and potato wedges. I proceed to the checkout with P asleep and my cart full of fruit. I get up there to checkout- and low and behold P will not wake up and mind you, its 5:00! She NEEDS to WAKE up! I would like some sleep tonight- thank you. But that was unsuccessful. I dropped all the chicken and it went everywhere. So these nice people around me just stood there and watched me holding P sleeping bend down as she looks like a bobble head and scrap up the chicken. The cashier told me to go back and get more. Okay. Not a problem. Thanks lady. I went to get more and when i got to the deli- the just looked at me. Didn't try to help me at all. Just stood there and watched me. I finally gave up. I got back in line and I got out my handy dandy ad and went through my list. That nice cashier only gave me strawberries for .99 cents. Forget the rest. I was so mad when I left being that I just went the day before and got my fruit and the Aldi price! Really?! Lady you are messing with a hungry pregnant lady that is carrying a 35 lb. sleeping child! I don't have my chicken and now I don't have my fruit! She is not on my friend list and of course, she happens to work at Golden Living. G.R.E.A.T.
So June is going by fast and I think I will sit back, eat fruit with some red pepper flakes on it and just relax and sleep. Or read. Maybe bake or sew. Who knows!

Love,

Heat Already??

Hello Heat!
Well Happy Monday to all! I’m not sure if it is happy or I’ve just lost my mind. This morning was a little tough for little Pay and Momma. She had to go to a new school today and it was rough and sad both. I cried. Paiton cried. We both cried. These pregnancy hormones sure don’t help either!
We started by waking up sorta cranky. Since my child almost slept until 11:00 yesterday I’m sure she could have surpassed that by far today. We took her to the Alma Water Park yesterday and had a blast! It was so fun! Paiton (little brave P) went down the slides and all! She splashed, swam, dunked her heat under water (of course she had a hold of her daddy) and just amazed us! She was such a big trooper and showed theses kids what to do and me too! So needless to say she was a little tired by the time she went to bed. But sleeping in was not an option this morning.
She immediately asked for her friends Randi and Ava. She loves them so much! My heart broke for her as I told her they wouldn’t be there and she was going to a “new” school today. Not fun. She told me she loved them and that they were her friends. Too cute but too sad. We got into the classroom and a few kids came up to her and so did her new teacher Mrs. Jeri. Paiton immediately started the waterworks. My poor baby cried when the teacher came up to her. She told her she wanted Randi. And then looked at the kids and told them all about her friend Ava. She said Ava isn’t coming here today but she still is my friend and I love her. Cute, funny and sad all rolled into one. Not a good way to start out our Monday morning. I’m not really sure how I like the class yet but we will see. Paiton took her Poptart in her new Poptart case and milk and sat down to eat. Her little new buddies sat beside her and ate too. I gave her a kiss and hug and off I went feeling so bad for leaving her in a strange place. I hate it! So we will see how today goes.
Well, I’m really excited for Sweet Baby #2. But I do not like all the sickness that is coming with it. I can’t stand the smell of cooking pasta or the red sauce. That goes for spaghetti, lasagna, macaroni, pizza- pretty much anything that is pasta or red sauce. Not cutting it for me. I guess that is a good thing, because I love pasta and I would weigh a lot if I could eat it. I. LOVE. PASTA. But not right now! One of my favorite summer time foods is BBQ! My mom and I went out to eat Thursday night and she happened to pick up some BBQ ribs. OMG! I almost threw up at the table. I had to make her throw them away or take them to another table. I couldn’t stand the smell of BBQ (sauce, etc) the whole works! Why? Not BBQ! So needless to say grocery shopping has been very interesting for us. Tim is confused on what I’m going to eat and I’m about to cry because I can’t find anything to take for lunch. HUH. What a combination! I’m already a picky eater so this doesn’t help any! OH and I hate strawberries, but I walked past them on Thursday and the smell was heavenly! I couldn’t stop thinking about strawberries dipped in Cool Whip! Guess what my new favorite/ not favorite thing is to eat? Yep, strawberries and Cool Whip!

Love Much,
  Linda
